ENCORE RETURNS TO SLIDE with special guest artist DAVID HARRIS
On February 4, ENCORE, Australia’s most successful cross-over vocal group, returns to perform at Slide, with special guest artist musical theatre star David Harris. This is sure to be a stunning show that should not be missed! ENCORE has been thrilling audiences across Australian and internationally in recent years and is always in heavy demand to return to Slide.
ENCORE vocal group is taking the world by storm, with their repertoire of opera, musical theatre, pop and jazz. Following the Slide concert, they will be touring Japan, with other countries to follow. ENCORE performed at World Youth Day in 2008 to a staggering 150,000 people, with national sell-out tours and international corporate gigs throughout 2007-2009. In 2009 they released their second album Il Destino. ENCORE is also set to record their third album, with original songs by Nathan Leigh Jones.
ENCORE consists of award winning singers: Soprano Clarissa Spata (Opera Australia, Finalist for Covent Garden, Italian Opera and New York Opera Awards; Jazz singer Eva Spata (The Basement, Young Achiever of the Year Award); Baritone Javier Vilarino (The Helpmann Award);
and introducing in the Tenor role for the evening Andrew Conaghan (Guys & Dolls, Jekyll & Hyde).
At the Slide concert on February 4, ENCORE will perform all their well-known hits including Nessun Dorma and favourite musical theatre numbers, with Maestro Simon Kenway on the baby grand. Special Guest Artist David Harris, one of Australia’s leading men and star of Miss Saigon and Damn Yankees, will join ENCORE on stage, and perform some numbers from his new album ‘Til The Night Is Gone'.
